Barchino breakfast in Nobby’s

A cool Sunday morning sent us down to Nobby Beach to meet a friend/local who recommended Barchino for breakfast. I was particularly hungry and decided to dive in and order the potato rosti with (all the trimmings) bacon, avo and poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce. The rosti was not as tasty when compared with some other places, however everything else was great, the bacon crispy as ordered, avo - fresh and generous and a perfectly poached egg. I did manage to finish most of it too, which is always a good sign!

As usual, I had a decaf mocha, which was absolutely delicious...in fact so delicious that I ended up ordering another later on. It’s weekend, so I’m allowed to indulge in chocolate, right?

My partner ordered the ham and cheese omelette with toast and he loved it. I had a taste and it was quite yummy. I may even order it next time, although it’s so huge, it strikes me more as a man’s meal. I’m sure he will love that comment!

Barchino seems to be quite popular with the locals, it’s situated on a corner and if you’re lucky, you could find yourself sitting on one of the sidewalk tables basking in the sunshine. We have since returned and were lucky to secure the last available table....and this at 10.30am. On this occasion, we had arrived just before lunch so luckily it had emptied by then. The staff are friendly, service was efficient and food great. Prices are around the normal $15-$17 mark. So it’s a big thumbs up from me.
